Athlete of the Week: Emily Johns

Congratulations to senior Emily Johns, University High School volleyball player and The U Post’s athlete of the week!

Emily Johns started playing volleyball at Sycamore School in 5th grade. During her senior year at University High School, Emily has really distinguished herself as a leader, helping the team earn their 9-16 record.

The team advanced to the second round of sectional play after a 3-0 win over the International School of Indiana. The team’s season came to an end after their sectional semifinal loss to the Bethesda Christian School. Overall, it was a very impressive season for the team, getting the same amount of wins as last year’s team despite the graduation of several key players. Johns finished her senior season with 65 kills and 13 aces.
