This reflection was written by senior Julien Webber.
I walked into the school on the first day amazed that I was finally a senior in high school. I remember looking up to both of my brothers when they were seniors, and it always made me sad knowing that they were going to be off to college the next year. However, now it was my turn to be looked up to. The idea that it was the last year of high school was amazing to me. This year was filled with many more highs than lows, and I would not trade this year for anything. The boy’s soccer team had a great year with many exhilarating matches. The time we spent together in Europe was like something out of a movie. The soccer trip was probably the most fun I’ve ever had with a group of people. Another thing that I noticed is that after four years together, you realize how important some of the relationships are that you made with fellow classmates, and even some of your teachers.
Even though this year was probably the easiest year out of my four years in high school, you still have a very hard decision to make as a senior. This decision decides where you spend the next four years of your life. The college process was very long and tiring. My decision on what school I wanted to attend came down to the wire, but I feel like it was the right one. Looking back on this year makes me realize how quickly high school flew by, and it makes me sad to have to leave a lot of it behind. However, some of the memories I made this year will stay with me forever. The thing I will miss the most is my mentor. She helped me a lot through my four years at University, and I hope we will always stay in touch. I am nervous to go to college next year, but I am also very excited. The class of 2014 will be missed.
