Freshman Featurette: Rodrigo Espinoza

Freshman Featurette: Rodrigo Espinoza

By Isaac Mervis

As the semester drags on, more and more faces in the halls become familiar. You may or may not notice freshman Rodrigo Espinoza’s friendly grin. If you aren’t lucky enough to have a class with him, I’m here to introduce you!

After excelling at The Oaks Academy, Rodrigo took his talents to University. “I chose UHS because of the freedom the students receive.” He is able to utilize this freedom to achieve his wildest dreams.

Rodrigo was a member of the Junior Varsity Soccer Team this year. Varsity Captain Jake Tanner states that he “was a key member of the Blazer offense.” Despite a successful year, misfortune struck during a regular season game against Guerin Catholic. “While I was warming up for the game, I was dribbling with the ball. My teammate came from behind and tried to take it away from me, but I tripped and broke my finger. I should be back to normal in about 2 months.” Many are patiently waiting what has been referred to on social media as #TheReturn.

“Something I want people to know about me is that I turn up, but not how you think,” states Rodrigo. He also adds that he is “very social and not afraid to make new friends.” So if you see Rodrigo Espinoza in the halls, be sure to introduce yourself, and maybe even give him a nice pat on the bottom!
