Hey Blazers, welcome to The U Post!
We’re glad to be back! If you don’t already know, The U Post is University’s version of a student newspaper; it’s entirely digital, entirely extracurricular, and entirely student-run. Our mission is to inform, entertain, and uplift the UHS community through multimedia storytelling across platforms, providing a forum for student content, community voices, and open dialogue.
So who is The U Post? It’s all of you; this digital news-magazine is a space for everyone in the University community to connect. However, there are a few key leaders; these are the people that allow this platform to run, day in and day out, and they are your resource for all things U Post. We’re lucky to have an awesome team of seniors, all of whom have been a part of The U Post for years and are committed to its success and growth. Patrick Naremore is our Managing Editor and heads up our Humans of University campaign. Livi Nichols is our Sports Editor, leading a team of sports writers in covering athletics, in and out of UHS. Emily Gardner is our Arts & Culture Editor, carving out space for creative and entertaining arts-centered work on the site and social media. Ashley Crockett-Lohr is our faculty advisor, always there to help and support all of us. Finally, I’m serving as your Editor-in-Chief for the second year, working with my fellow Editors to manage all the moving parts that make up The U Post.
This year we’re adding more organization to the way The U Post functions, allowing all of us to work more effectively and create more consistent, quality content for the site and our social media. Speaking of which, if you aren’t already following us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, you should be! We’re working hard to grow and improve our role in the Trailblazer community, and we want all of you along for the ride.
As always, our door is always open. I hope you’ll join us in continuing to grow this site as an awesome space for all of us to connect and share our lives, interests, and experiences with one another. It’s going to be a great year!
